Automatic fines now issued for late guest registration.
Croatia's Tourist Board has significantly strengthened enforcement of the eVisitor system, with automatic fines now issued for late or missing guest registrations. This affects all short-term rental operators.
**New Enforcement Measures:** - Automatic fine generation for registrations submitted after check-in - €80-120 per guest for first-time violations - €200+ per guest for repeat offenders - No warning letters - fines issued immediately
**Registration Requirements:** - Check-in registration: Must be completed before guest arrival (ideally 24 hours prior) - Check-out registration: Must be completed within 24 hours of departure - All guests: Including children and infants - All nationalities: No exceptions
**How eVisitor Works:** 1. Log in to eVisitor portal (evisitor.mint.hr) 2. Enter guest details (passport/ID number, nationality, dates) 3. Submit before guest arrives 4. Receive confirmation number 5. Keep records for 2 years
**Common Mistakes:** - Registering guests after they've already arrived - Missing children from registration - Incorrect passport numbers or expiry dates - Forgetting to register check-out
**Penalties:** - First offense: €80-120 per unregistered guest - Repeat offenses: €200+ per guest - Severe cases: Tourism license suspension - Tax implications: Unregistered guests = unreported income
